Dead Kennedys

Biography

The Dead Kennedys had already been disbanded and destroyed for a few years by the time I came of age and learned about them, but the music was exciting and the lyrics opened a whole new world to me, putting politics and global challenges in terms i could understand.

Years after the Dead Kennedys broke up, Jello Biafra’s bandmates took him to court and stole away his portion of the band. So have no need to buy anything of theirs new.

And though the band continues to tour, they’re more or less a Dead Kennedy cover band, with no new material to speak of since Jello was no longer associated with them.

As much as I love the Dead Kennedys, supporting them financially isn’t something i’m interested in doing.
